Finding live serenity art on a trip to Monte Carlo turned this business trip from zoom to Zen. Today I looked up above my vanity table at my framed souvenir. And thought you'd enjoy seeing it too. Maybe you, or someone you know, could use a similar brush with floral and botanical serenity art.

Here's my story ...

Producing an international calcium regulating hormones conference determines hours and hours of toil for months. And when I'm in Monte Carlo, it's a rush from venue...to...venue, filling special requests, interacting with French customs, and 1,392 details (yes, I counted). One cloudless pre-conference day in September, I chose strolling to an appointment and left the Hermitage hotel early.

All of a sudden coming from my right the aroma of roses announced Fontvieille Park and "Princess Grace Rose Garden". The morning sun, a garden seat, puttering garden staff, and the fragrant blooms from 4,000 rose trees, delivered me. I sat ... I meandered ... I sniffed ... I stroked velvet petals. I remembered how very much my mother adored lush red roses and felt her near to me.

Every morning for the next 8 days, I walked to the rose garden, selected a different variety of rose, perched on a bench or sat on the grass. In total silence ... centered. And Henri, here ... there ... pruning, pinching back, grooming the rose garden. He paused for a smile and a wave.

On the morning of my final visit to the garden, Henri gave me my souvenir. An end of season pink rose bursting with grace and fragrance. Speaking French he said the serene rose spirit would sing me back to the garden. And to this day I listen and ... hear.

As home based working mothers, it can be challenging finding peaceful calm. I hope you can find your very own serenity art.
